From Soldier to Corporate Ops Maven doubling as a sensitive Hearth Mama.

Originally from the Appalachian foothills in Georgia, Leah is a U.S. Army Veteran and data librarian with more than 20 years of building + leading in the military and Fortune 500 companies. She cooks, write, and leads from her busy home in the Pacific Northwest - ink smeared by tears and splattered with bacon grease.

Leah journeyed from combat boots to the cutest corporate heels, leading from the front for over 20 years with eagerness, fairness, and determination to NOT be the toxic boss that made meme worthy content and easy LinkedIn content.

A seasoned data librarian and operational leader, she’s carried the nervous system of a strategic planning team within US Special Operations and teams of 188+ whole humans while managing portfolios growing year-over-year even in the face of automation and new technology horizons.

It took a cold piece of pizza in the fall of 2025 for Leah to realize, the biggest automation threat to her team wasn’t in technology…it was in her own detachment and automated impulses.

And oh my, that’s the worst kind of automation. To own the automation of a powerful woman.

The critiques in her final chapter in Corporate came from those encouraged to deny rhythm that stirs the scent of decay after the first hard rains in fall that echoes in the first emerging of spring at Imbolc deep within the forest floor.

If you breathe deep enough at each turn, what power do those fiscal years truly hold?

Thumps from sausage on the stove, scent of oak smoking plums, bone broth slowly brewed, and light off the snow fully nourish through seasons of excavation, unearthing, and witness.

In early 2026, Leah unearthed a story from her grandmother of the Hearth Mamas that were said to appear in hard mountain winter seasons. They’d tend the fire - creating sparks and flames with cinnamon, clove, and hops while also entertaining children harboring empty tummies in lighter seasons. Hearth Mamas led and protected with nourishing alchemy of cunning planning, strategy of resources, and LOVE.

“Old mirrors must break - it isn’t just about the glass ceiling anymore. How can we reshape what we offer as leaders? As women building new seats at the table (or building completely new tables!) - what mirrors fade, break, or hold for the legacy we’re leaving?”

As she exits full-time Corporate life she’s pausing to unravel automation and demands of years of compounded burnout. To come back to the hearth of being fully human and honor each season in unified rhythm rather than mirroring stagnant fiscal years.

Let’s break the old mirrors, not just the glass ceiling.
