Fort Mischief
Are you resourced at the same level you’re relied upon?
Are you eating lunch and dinner gently - with full nourishment?
Are you telling the truth in the Boardroom? In your team syncs?
Are you enjoying the bright lights and city scapes?
Nah, me either.
Welcome to Fort Mischief
Driven by post-burnout direction and built with intention, I’m cooking up an art and cooking residency on my 33-acre property of WILD (and I do mean, very wild).
Wild Dreams take Patience
Our dream started years ago when we stumbled across an abandoned 33-acre property and decided to make a move.
We were all tired of long commutes, the density of the city, and noise. I missed stars. I missed fields. I missed my family and we were missing full connection. My writing stalled. Family art nights were abandoned.
We moved on the property - and then it just sat.
Any time we’d try to curate a small offering…a beaver family would take up residence. We’d clear the brush…and it would grow back with vigor. I’d rework the trails…and the lines would be fuzzy by dawn the next day.
Ah, perhaps we leave most of her wild, then.
Once we stopped fighting the wild of our property and listened to her wisdom…the residency that’s emerging is taking a beautiful form. Our ventures to the property became balanced with writing time, art, and cooking over open flame.
Like bees curating resources and stores for seasons ahead - Fort Mischief is a dream come true in the making!
The Wisdom Garden
The Wisdom Garden
I’ve tended the seeds that will establish our garden wheel for over 15 years. Starting with a bag of seeds stowed by my grandmother, anchored on trellises of my humble Fort Bragg apartment, and continuing their progression in our Pacific Northwest home - the wisdom garden carries medicinal staples ready for their next home.
2026 we initiate with:
Lavender. Respite.
Calendula. Rejuvenation.
Lemon balm. Wild joy.
Olive. Wisdom.
